Dec. 12, 2005 - INSURANCE FRAUD

Sen. Ron Klein (D-Delray Beach) has asked the state to investigate whether insurers paid hundreds of fraudulent claims from Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Jeanne and Ivan, a practice he says makes property insurance more expensive for everyone in the state. He also called for a rate freeze during the investigation.
