Nov. 17, 2005 - APPRAISALS

In an attempt to make sure appraisals reflect the true value of a property, Fannie
Mae, in conjunction with Freddie Mac, mandated the use of new and more extensive appraisal forms on Nov. 1. But appraisers say Realtors should expect a longer turnaround time for an appraisal and costs will go up, especially when FHA and VA mortgages also require the forms starting Jan. 1, 2006.
