Nov. 11, 2005 - Mortgage Tax Deduction

According to a survey commissioned by NAHB, Americans overwhelming want to
keep the tax deduction for mortgage interest payments, with 81 percent calling it
reasonable and 76 percent unwilling to replace it with some kind of stock incentive.
Meanwhile, a group of U.S. Senators say they have the necessary votes to override
any attempt to remove the mortgage interest tax deduction from the tax code.
