What NHL teams will be looking for in the free-agent market

Here's a capsule look at team-by-team free-agent needs. Unrestricted free agents can be signed by any team without compensation. Restricted free agents can be signed, but teams owning their rights would be due compensation of up to four first-round picks. Priority is on getting restricted free agent center Corey Perry under a long-term contract. Then, they need to find a second-line center. Perry should get a deal soon, as the Ducks' cap situation becomes clear. Scott Niedermayer's early decision to return helps budget planning. Where to start? How about on defense? They have money to spend and could pursue a top-notch blue-line player. Trouble is, will an elite defenseman want to come to a struggling team?
