Now the Phillies are one step away from the second championship in franchise history, after beating the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-1, to clinch the NLCS in five games. Cole Hamels isn’t yet Grover Cleveland Alexander, the pitching star of the 1915 Phillies, but the 24-year-old lefty who grew up rooting for the Dogers has been a postseason ace.
