I have asked somebody to Sadie Hawkins... and they said yes, but...

I still feel like I'm missing something...

I suppose you can say that I can cross "Ask somebody to a school dance" off my 'List of Things to Do Before I'm Six-Feet Underground'... but there's one other thing I wanted to cross off that went hand-in-hand with it... but I can't...

This morning, I was dead set on finally asking Meh Infatuation to the dance. I even traded a deal with Melo to come with me into the band room in exchange for me to help her snag her date for the dance. But she was so dead set on working HER plan, that she rushed us right out of the band room... (but she didn't know my intentions of being there, but, I guess you can't really blame her...) We even passed him and his friend on the way out the door, but we were moving to quickly out said door to stop...

So, all during 2nd block, I finally thought to myself "SCREW IT!! God just doesn't want me to ask him, talk to him, or get me anywhere NEAR him...!! I'll just ask Joe to the dance, and it'll be a helluva lot better time than it would EVER be with that infatuation of mine!!!!"

And ask Joe I did, for after second block I went to lunch break. About 2 minutes into break, I was talking to Joe as I always do, and I just popped the question with no problem at all. He said he'd like to, and well... we're going to the dance together, I guess.

For the rest of lunch, he hung out with me a lot, but rarely ever spoke to me, except for a few comments toward the conversation amongst the group, or something about the dance, such as "We're supposed to be matching, right? I say we go to Old Navy and find shirts that says something funny and witty. "

So, I have a date for Sadie Hawkins... so... all should be well... right?

Well, as lunch had ended, AoiHi and I were heading to the band room. I told her I had asked Joe and he said yes. She screamed and jumped for joy as I expected her to, and said something along the lines of "OH MY GAWD!! YOU MUST BE SO HAPPY!!!!!!"

Well... it wasn't that I wasn't happy... I mean, Joe is really nice...

But... where's that complete rush of ecstasy that I hoped for when I was going to ask you, my dear infatuation...?
