Nov. 13, 2005 - Behind the Music
Yeah... yesterday's band trip wasn't as bad as the last one, but the way we performed the show was 10 times worse...
At Northwestern, we got all 1's, got the awards of best drum majors and best percussion in our catagory, and made second overall... but now, my friends, it is time for another episode of
BEHIND THE MUSIC.
First off, this one girl named Kelsey wouildn't even think straight. All she cared about was getting in her spot without even looking at the form. Then she turned at the wrong time during the rotating diamonds. And (of course) she marched off late.... TWICE...
Another bad thing that happened was the move that we named the "Helter Skelter". Two accidents came from that one. Not so bad was the fact that our diamond was somewhat screwed... but not that badly. The bigger (and I mean bigger) issue was that a tuba player fell. I mean, it could have just been a trumpet player or a flute player and it would all be fine.... but no... it had to be a TUBA... the most noticable instrument out there...
But, I guess it still was alright overall... When we left, my friends and I kept on chanting "PHS". Then when some people were taking pictures, I, along with Wesley, a trumpet player and the infatuation snuck up behind them and made bunny ears and "rock on" signs behind them (but, of course I didn't talk to the infatuation...)
After the competition, we ate at McDonald's instead of Iberville because it was closed. Most of us (especially me, unfortunately) had to wait for service over ten minutes (me 20), because there was a shortage of chicken nuggets. That was okay compared to the rudeness that some of the workers there gave us...
We had a little fun in the area next to the busses as soon as we got out. One guy named Kyle Owens entertained some of us with some showtunes like "The Timewarp" and "I'm Just a Sweet Transvestite". Me and Linka kept on sticking dollars in his bibbers...
Then me and my friends became another guy's "pimpettes"... (Just jokingly, of course...)
Meanwhile, two guys were pretending to be stippers at the streetlight pole and a bunch of people who got food from Dominoes brought the pizza in the McD's just to tick them off. Then after a while after being morons, we left for home.
