I Have a Tendency to Make Myself Laugh | |
So Yeah... Just Your Average Weekend Update... NOTWell… a whole, whole lot has happened… wow… yeah I got a lot to catch you up on! Where to start? I really shouldn’t tell you all anything because you never comment. However, I have talked to quite a few people who said that they actually read this everyday. So really, could you do me the small favor of just simply posting at least a hi today? That would mean a whole lot! Well enough holding out… it’s time for… dun, dun, dun… WEEKEND UPDATE!
Thursday: Well usually I just jump into Friday, however this time Thursday is a bit worth mentioning! I got off work 30 minutes early because… well there was literally nothing to do. I decided that I was going to go home, make some dinner (go WIT training) and try to teach my hair to be wavy like Reece Witherspoon’s. So I went to the grocery store and pick up everything I will need to keep busy at home. I got home around 5:00 pulled into my spot and began the long and difficult walk up the stairs. Once I reached the top my heart stopped. The door to my condo was about a foot open. I approach the door and uttered an, “Oh man” before saying, “Hello?” Side Note: So I was raised is the country. My brother would always forget to shut the door. I guess I have no danger alarm in my head. Because really walking into that open condo was quite dangerous. It was like that stupid girl in the scary movies. She sees the door open and instead of calling someone or leaving she says, “Hello???” and walks in, while you are screaming at the TV screen for her to run away. Needless to say I promise to never enter my home if the door is wide open like that again.
Back to Thursday: So I quietly enter the house. I start to head for the kitchen to grab a knife when suddenly Vincent jumps out from the hallway with a loud, “RRRAAAWWWRRR”… yup he growled at me. I was so conflicted I screamed because I was scared but my arms were out for a hug because I wanted to hug him… yeah when you see him ask him to do the impression of it because he does that reaction better than me. He got me a rose, which I quickly discarded and hugged him. So then he asked me if I was ready to go. Now bear in mind this is a Thursday. We rarely ever go out on Thursdays so I wasn’t really prepared to do anything but chill. I asked him to give me 5 minutes and I rushed to get semi cute… or really just as cute as you could get in 5 minutes. So we left… and I left all my stuff: cell, keys, purse, water, groceries, all throughout the kitchen. We got in the car and he asked me if I was hungry. I said no because I didn’t know that I was going to have to be hungry so early in the evening. So we went to burger king… yup, totally romantic I know! It was crazy because it started to snow hard and stick… in March! It was wild. So then we drive down to Redondo Beach (I think that’s what it’s called). We walked around for a bit and then went to this beautiful gazebo. Once we got inside Vincent said some sweet things and then pulled out some bling… you knew that was where this was going right? I’M ENGAGED! Yeah baby! So I’m getting married… I wonder if I will become bridezilla… for those of you seasoned readers that was like one of the first blogs I wrote. I said that if I would have gotten married back then I would be bridezilla… it all comes full circle! So there you go! Afterward we went to his parents and hung out for a while, then we went to his Aunt Linda’s, Red Robin and then home. It was really a special night! Friday: I woke up and really didn’t feel much different. Caleb came over and we hung out. We were waiting for the Judd & Black guys to bring my new washer dryer and install it. Needless to say they forgot to show up. Well really they just messed up our order and didn’t schedule us at all. It really messed with all my plans. My mom was going to take us out to coldstone but because we were waiting for those stupid dudes to show up we couldn’t! So that was my whole day! I spent it waiting for the Judd & Black dudes. And when they finally showed up (around 4:30) they were rude! So I spent a bit of my Friday calling people and telling them about the recent developments in my love life… well really I only called 3 people at first. I called Jessica Reynolds aka The Fiber. Because well she is my co bestest girl friend in the whole world and she is my Matron of Honor… well I had to ask her. Then I called Melissa Hayashi aka Sophia Dartinovia (or something) because she is the other co bestest girl friend in the world and I asked her to be my maid of honor. I love those girls more than anything and I felt that outside of our parents, siblings and pastors those girls should be the first to know on my side. Note to Fiber and Sophie: I just want to thank you for being my friends! You guys were there for me in the roughest time of my life. When everyone else turned their back you supported me. I don’t think people really know what amazing people you both are. I love you so much and I am so thankful that I have two anointed women in my life to help me stand when I am shaky. I love you guys and I would be more than an honor to have you in my wedding! Back to Friday: So after calling Jess and Mel I call the Simmons because they have known me forever, before I was worship leader anything they were there! I told Pastor LaTonya, who welled up a bit when I told her, and I asked her if her kids would be in my wedding and if she would be a bridesmaid. I didn’t call anyone else other than that! I told Pastor Lynn-Felice when she picked up Caleb and Stephany called me and I told her. That was it! Vincent and rented Rebound then we went to his dorm, attempted to play life, and instead just watched the movie. After all of that I went home. Saturday: I loved this Saturday. I took the day off so I didn’t serve in any ministry at all that day! I stayed at home, started some laundry, made lunch for my dad, and just hung out. Jess decided she wanted to have a girl’s night, which was perfect because I had been cooped up all day. So Jess, Annetta and I went out and did the whole Ladies Night thing… pause so you can sing the song… and we’re back. We went out and saw Nanny McPhee… or as Jess calls it Fanny McKnee. It was cute and afterward we just went home. It was a lovely way to spend the day off! Sunday: Sunday was great because not too many people knew about Vincent and I. Bishop was going to announce it before his sermon so then people would be surprised… but really nothing goes according to plan at Seattle International… can I get an AMEN? So I went through the whole services is only about 15% of the congregation knowing that something was different… I always wear rings so nobody thought anything of a new one. Service was great God moved through everything from the worship to the word! Then after church I waited for Vincent to be done assisting Bishop and we left. We decided that instead of going to get the ring sized we would go to the Cheesecake Factory for hot wings and dessert… we sure do have our priorities straight huh? It was well worth the sacrifice though let me tell you! Then we went to his dorm and hung out until it was time for leading ladies! The service was great. Praise and worship was a bit bumpy due to technical difficulties but Tia Wia was a trooper and she lead worship like a soldier. Then Annetta came up and turned the whole thing around. She preached on delighting yourself in the Lord. It was a power word and I was so proud of her! She reminded me of a mix between Pastor Lynn-Felice and Pastor Jodiann which really when you come down to it equals Annetta. She has the sweetest spirit, a servant’s heart, but a way to delivering the word that demands you attention. She, with the Lord’s help, tore it up! After leading ladies I drove Jess home, called Vincent, hung out with Steph (who spent the night at my house) and went to sleep. Which really just brings me to today. Nothing amazingly awesome has happened quite yet! I’m just relaxing and answering phones and whatnot! I think I’m going to get my lunch at Taco Bell… cuz they have that thing that Wiley gets that I love. I don’t know. I have to take into consideration that I am also going to the movies with Vincent tonight (we’re going to see the new Medea) and so I want to make sure that I eat well… because you just cant eat healthy at the movies!
