The Adventures of Polly Pocket and Mighty Mouse! Now seems about the right time to start my weekend update blog… to be honest I cant really remember if a lot happened or not… hmmm…
Friday: Friday was really relaxing for me. Pastor Lyn-Felice’s parents were in town so I didn’t have Caleb. Now don’t get me wrong I love the boy… he is one of the cutest kids and he’s sweet and smart… but… I was so excited to get some real rest. The Lord obviously knew that I needed extra rest; He knew what was in store for me this weekend! So I slept in, did a bit of laundry… and by a bit I mean just enough so that I could avoid stinking! I watched a movie and took my time getting ready for my date. Vincent came nice and early and we didn’t really know what we wanted to do. We already committed to babysitting Tay and Aysia but that wasn’t until later in the evening. So we decided to go to my office and visit my mom and dad and play Jenga (which I had never played). So we get all the way down to Everett and we say hello to everyone. After exchanging pleasantries for only a few minutes we went to my office and started the game. I lost the first game right out the gate. No joke full on just knocked that tower over. The second game I was less cavalier and I ended up beating him pretty good. So, naturally because of the way Vincent and I are we decided we should bet something because we had a tie. I didn’t feel like playing for a point because, to be honest, I wasn’t too confident in my Jenga skills. So we talked about a few things we could bet. We discussed maybe the loser buying the winner a blizzard. We eventually thought that wasn’t a very big deal because if he won then who cares… he would have bought it anyway. So we just blew it off or the conversation fizzled… whatever (is whatever I know, I know) bottom line we didn’t agree to anything, but we still played the game. I inevitably lost it by just being too careless and then out of nowhere Vincent starts talking about how I’m going to buy him a blizzard. He just is on me about it until I finally just gave in and agreed to buy him a blizzard. While I wasn’t thrilled I maintained, because bottom line ladies, sometimes we just need to pick our battles. So then for about 10-15 minutes Vincent was being “mean Vincent” which I can definitely handle and sometimes find it to be a bit endearing. However, this time I was not feelin it. He eventually let up and we ate our blizzards and hung out a bit until it was time to go to the Simmons. The kids were good. Pastor D made us pasta and the kids ate with us. Then we watched… I don’t remember what it was called… or really what it was about… all I remember is that I liked it… it was about vegetables… sort of. Well anyway after watching the kids Vincent and I hung out and then I went home.
Saturday: Saturday was definitely chill! I slept in pretty late and woke up with a enough time to get changed and ready for Metro Kidz. Vincent came and picked me up and off we went to Yestler Terrace! Metro Kidz went well. We actually had a whole lot of kids and they were, for the most part, well behaved. It helped that we had a lot of leaders there. Tatie is back in town so she was there, then we of course had Holly and Gina, and also Vincent and I. After Metro Vincent and I went back to his dorm where we had lunch and relaxed before he drove me home. Once I got home… I again relaxed and chilled. I had no clue what Sunday had for me… I’m so grateful I was bored and just laid around…
Sunday: Oh man Sunday… every time I write about Sunday’s that’s what I think… oh man Sunday… so I got up earlier than I normal do so I can go pick some stuff up at the store. Then I head off to church. We had to push back mic check because our soundmen weren’t ready. We eventually got everything all leveled out and then it was pre-service prayer. Pastor Julia wanted to meet with Minister Paul, Trenecsia and me so we all went to the back office instead of joining prayer. She just encouraged us (as she always does) and then had Deacon Dave pray for us. The prayer was so powerful and I knew that God was preparing me to do something for Him that was a bit out of what I was comfortable with. Christian education was fun. I love sitting by Rillo and Vincent… because really we try to pay attention, and really for all intensive purposes we do retain the word (at least I do… I wont speak for the others), but when it comes down to it we just enjoy joking around… it was fun… yeah so then we head into church. Praise and worship was going pretty much like it always does. The people who want to get something from God push without me asking and the others just kind of… spectated. Something came over me (obviously God) and I began to minister in a different manner then usual. To be honest I don’t remember much of what was said (or sang) all I know is that God was using me to start a move in His church. It was somewhere in the midst of all of that, that the people really started to call on God. You could see chains being broken. It all continued into the word and God kept working through it all.
Side Note: Bishop preached a word called, “They Left You For Dead”. He said that there would be times in your life where people thought you were through. They figured you hit rock bottom and just left you for dead. When the reality was, you were still moving. I would encourage you right now to not give up or lose hope. That thing that God has for you is still there. Don’t let what people think discourage you from seeking God and getting your blessing. It’s not too late, you’re not dead yet!
Back to Sunday: After the alter call Bishop really felt on his heart that we should have an evening service. Everyone pretty much agreed that they didn’t want to quench what the Spirit was doing and that we would all meet back at the church at 6:00. So after hanging around a bit after church the little brother and I set out for some cheap food, board games, and a little nappy nap nap. We did all of those things and it was simply splendid… my little one has really been being a nice brother lately and I appreciate all of his loveliness. I woke up after a 20 minutes nap/I didn’t really nap I just rested my eyes time and quickly got ready for the evening service. I got to church and did all my church business stuff and sooner than I really anticipated it was time to begin. Praise and worship was good. It took the people as a whole a while to enter in but they got there and really began to worship. Then Bishop came and delivered a word on relationships and purity. It was a good word and when it came time for the alter call the response was overwhelming. God really showed me that people do what to have purity in their relationships. They just need the strength to obtain it and continue in it. I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that God delivered many people last night. Now it’s just a matter of hanging on it what they received. After service I hung out till Vincent was dismissed… Ahh the life of an armor bearer/future preacher’s girlfriend… eventually I will sit and wait with all the wives… but for now Lindsay and I will have to be “the leaders girlfriends club”. Catchy title huh? I just came up with that one on the fly. Then Vincent and I hung out and we had a great time together. Really just when we think that the level we are at is good God throws us in a new one. Really He just doesn’t let us get comfortable. It’s good though. We’ve only been together for about 4.5 months and we are already emotionally at about 1 year status… it’s crazy… but that’s God.
Monday: Which brings me to today. I didn’t get scarcely any sleep because so much went on yesterday… it was just hard to catch up. I got home ridiculously late and still had a bit of trouble falling asleep. I eventually did doze off; and thankfully my rest was good enough to wake up and not be a complete zombie. I got ready in 10 minutes and ran out the door. Now I’m here trying my hardest to not forget any important detail… I’m sure I missed a few.
Well really that’s it. I wonder if anyone actually reads this whole thing or if they just skim it… what would I do? It depends on who wrote it. I read all of KTatie’s novels… well I’m just rambling now… Last thing, I posted this on myspace and I thought I would invite those of you in the Seattle area that read my blog to come check out my church. Here’s what I posted in the bulletin: You wanna go to church? I know every once in a while some of you think to yourself, “I should to back to church sometime…” Well let me tell you this is your lucky week!
