Do You Want to be Here???

Good morning blog! Well here we are another Monday has come and I’m sitting here looking at a blank screen searching for something to write. I guess Mondays are the easiest all I have to do is write about my weekend. So here you go!

Friday Night: My date was awesome. Vincent did a great job planning it and we had a blast. He gave me a camera and he had one himself and we just took pictures of each other. It wasn’t a competition really (which is weird for us) it was just a game. He finished before me and I had to try my best to not let it get to me. My pictures (the ones I took) I thought, for the most part, were incredibly creative. So overall I was happy with the night.

Saturday: Saturday was action packed for me. I woke up early showered and packed my red bag full of everything I would need that day. Vincent picked me up around 8:30 and we went to the store to get supplies for the Big Top Block Party at Yestler Terrace. Then we went to his dorm to get his Bible and made our way down town. The Big Top Block Party was an outreach that we had been planning for about a month. We went to the same neighborhood as we always do for Metro Kidz and we just threw a big party. It was a success and it really helped get our name out there more. We spent most of the day setting up, passing out fliers, managing children and cleaning; it was a blast! Then after the Big Top was all over Vincent and I went to XXX Burgers for lunch (it’s in Issaquah if you want to go let me know and I’ll get you directions). The food was bomb and our server was beyond awesome! I was struggling though because… well I’m a lady! I’m not use to getting all messy when I eat. I would much prefer to just get a fork and knife and have at it with minimal mess. That, however, is impossible at XXX Burgers (you have to throw in the burgers or else it sounds dirty)! So yes Lindsey Parker had sauce dripping from her hands throughout the whole meal (and yes I just wrote about myself in the third person). It was so good though; and because cleanliness will always remain a priority to me I will find a way to eat those burgers like a lady! After lunch we went and visited Vincent’s old high school. Yup… Then we went to his parent’s house to get ready for church (I told you it was action packed). We relaxed for about 30 minutes before we got ready and headed out to the church. I was excited to see where Vincent came from. The service was… well long but I wasn’t at all surprised. The word was really good and I enjoyed myself.

Side Note: Okay I’m one of those people that if I’m tired I cant hide it. Even if I try I cant. My face just… I don’t know. It’s probably my eyes. I just look tired. I tried to seem more alive… but I wasn’t. Saturday was a long day

After I met a few people we made our way back north. I was so tired the second my head hit the pillow I was gone.

Sunday: Sunday was HUGE! We had been advertising for about a month our free turkey giveaway. This Sunday we also started our shuttle ministry (where we drive a bus into the Yestler Terrace Community and bring the people to church). The bus was packed and when I arrived an hour and a half before church started there were already at least 20 people there (when there’s usually only 5). The service went really well. Praise and worship was fun and Bishop’s word was great. It really all comes down to the alter call on Sundays like that though. When you know that 50% of your congregation is only there to receive a free turkey. When Bishop asked if anyone wanted to receive Jesus and opened up the alter at least 60 people came down. That is what it’s all about! All the money it cost to buy turkeys, all the hard work and organization, all the running around in the cold passing out fliers. It was all worth it. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that heaven is still rejoicing over what happened at SIC yesterday! After church Shash and I went to my parents. On the way there we stopped at Rite Aid to pick up some lip gloss (I just need some strawberry) and then we made our way to Machias. My mother, bless her soul, made us amazing steaks. It was like a dream come true. I hadn’t had my mommy’s steak in a long time. We just relaxed for the rest of the evening. We made fun of Max (my mom’s poodle) and watched Hook. I even took a nap (If you really know me you know I have napping issues). After the movie/nap Shash and I did the dishes and left with our leftovers. After I dropped Shash off I had resolved that I was going to bring my leftover steak to Vincent. The man only eats junk food cuz that’s all you can get at the UW. So yeah I couldn’t let him just eat that stuff so I brought him my left over steak. We had some quality time and then I went home and fell asleep. Again immediately.

So yeah that was my weekend. To me it was great but to you I don’t know. This morning I was so proud of myself cuz I woke up on time! I only hit the snooze twice. Now that’s a breakthrough! So here I am wrapping up my blog… I smell like WU right now cuz I chose not to wear perfume and just wear a gray Kentlake Hoodie instead. Yup… that’s all I have to say. Well that and, “Do you want to be here????” Linz

My soul deserves blessing....

"My mother, bless her soul, made us amazing steaks." Considering I didn't even know you were coming over until a few hours before you arrived and I happened to be in the grocery store when I found out, you are very fortunate to have gotten those steaks. I wasn't even planning on making dinner! This is my hard week at work so I was planning on taking advantage of Sunday afternoon to get a head start on Thanksgiving. But the evening was fun even if you were mean to my dog, putting Wiley's old boxers on him was just wrong!

I'm glad you took the steak to Vincent. If I'd known I would have made up a whole plate for him.

Do you really want to take it there?

Well anyone ready for some sub-blog action? Ready or not here it comes….

Friday: So school was school, but I really couldn’t wait to take Lindsey out. The statement, “ Surprise me” rang in my ears all day. To be honest I didn’t know what to do so I went to the master creator (that would be Jesus/God/Holy Spirit), and asked for guidance. He told me some great things and lets just say I had to put my trust in him. We went to Qdoba for dinner which is great, took pictures, and spent some time looking at the stars. Friday was divine!

Saturday: What a day.. So I pick Lindsey up and we go to Starbucks for hot chocolate and strawberry lemonade, I also got a cinnamon roll praise be to God. I was happy to get my Bible and we headed on down to the church for supplies. The outreach was without a doubt soul fulfilling. For anyone out there that is looking for a way to make a true difference spend some time with a kid that would run in front of car just to know that someone loved him, what are you waiting for? After that we went out to XXX Burgers, the place is outstanding, and for anyone looking for a date idea ding ding ding. Be aware though that you have to eat a certain way otherwise your food will get all over you. Vincent was very pleased with the way lunch went (o..wait…was that the third person?)
Afterwards we had some time so I showed her my high school, then … (this is getting long “let’s save some for later”). My parent’s was fun as always, Shayla made cookies but she put too much salt in them, and I found out that my brother can’t spell CUFFTH LINKTHS. Surprisingly my movie marathon didn’t air that night. It was great to go back to my old church and see everyone again, but yes service was long. About the apple cup…well to stay on the positive side I got a new nickname from it all, ask if you like, but other than that I don’t want to talk about it.

Side Note: Ok I knew that I would probably get acknowledged for coming back to my former church, but Lindsey got a shout out as well by the main speaker. My lady is famous people, seriously Lindsey can I have your autograph?

Sunday: Service was stellar! She told you all about it, and the children in Godworks were great. “No more crows!!!” Yay turkeys!! Afterwards it was time to clean up and I found out that I had a sister by the name of Skim, errr…daughter actually (its kinda messy). Well for those of you in college you know what dinner usually consists of. Either just add water meals or something that only takes about 5 min. in the microwave. So when Lindsey brought me her steak it was more than ok with me. Mom Jane your steak makes me sing, but I will have to tell you face to face because type just doesn’t quite get the job done.

Now closing I would like to thank mothers everywhere in particular Mom Jane. In the prophetic words of Elder Juvenile the rapper Lindsey gets it from her momma/grand-momma. I love all Wainwright’s and ones before that (sorry if I spelled that wrong)!! Sometimes I wonder how she can just do the things she does and I just smile and thank the lord for mothers. So much makes sense to me when I reflect on how great God has blessed her mother and all of the unique giftings she has. To my readers don’t think I am trying to get on Mom Jane’s good side because I only reside on the good side. So Mom Jane I can only say thank you for raising such a wonderful young lady.

Lindsey I count it all joy to have shared the best See’s Chocolate of my entire life with you/WU

P.S. Watch out my edge is coming back… “How old are you?”

Is this a competition?

4:33 PM, Nov. 21, 2005 .. Posted by Mom
Vincent are you and Lindsey in a competition to see who can make me well up? Thank you for your sweet words but I can honestly say Denny and I are not responsible for the young women Lindsey is. As you know she was a miracle baby, after they cleaned her up and they brought her to my room, I went into prayer. I immediately gave her back to God, she is His child, we just took care of her. I asked Him to cover her, I asked that when we made parenting errors that He would correct them. (I actually did this with both kids and as you know they are both pretty amazing.) So give the glory to Him.
