I Have a Tendency to Make Myself Laugh | |
Do You Want to be Here???Good morning blog! Well here we are another Monday has come and I’m sitting here looking at a blank screen searching for something to write. I guess Mondays are the easiest all I have to do is write about my weekend. So here you go! Friday Night: My date was awesome. Vincent did a great job planning it and we had a blast. He gave me a camera and he had one himself and we just took pictures of each other. It wasn’t a competition really (which is weird for us) it was just a game. He finished before me and I had to try my best to not let it get to me. My pictures (the ones I took) I thought, for the most part, were incredibly creative. So overall I was happy with the night. Saturday: Saturday was action packed for me. I woke up early showered and packed my red bag full of everything I would need that day. Vincent picked me up around 8:30 and we went to the store to get supplies for the Big Top Block Party at Yestler Terrace. Then we went to his dorm to get his Bible and made our way down town. The Big Top Block Party was an outreach that we had been planning for about a month. We went to the same neighborhood as we always do for Metro Kidz and we just threw a big party. It was a success and it really helped get our name out there more. We spent most of the day setting up, passing out fliers, managing children and cleaning; it was a blast! Then after the Big Top was all over Vincent and I went to XXX Burgers for lunch (it’s in Issaquah if you want to go let me know and I’ll get you directions). The food was bomb and our server was beyond awesome! I was struggling though because… well I’m a lady! I’m not use to getting all messy when I eat. I would much prefer to just get a fork and knife and have at it with minimal mess. That, however, is impossible at XXX Burgers (you have to throw in the burgers or else it sounds dirty)! So yes Lindsey Parker had sauce dripping from her hands throughout the whole meal (and yes I just wrote about myself in the third person). It was so good though; and because cleanliness will always remain a priority to me I will find a way to eat those burgers like a lady! After lunch we went and visited Vincent’s old high school. Yup… Then we went to his parent’s house to get ready for church (I told you it was action packed). We relaxed for about 30 minutes before we got ready and headed out to the church. I was excited to see where Vincent came from. The service was… well long but I wasn’t at all surprised. The word was really good and I enjoyed myself. Side Note: Okay I’m one of those people that if I’m tired I cant hide it. Even if I try I cant. My face just… I don’t know. It’s probably my eyes. I just look tired. I tried to seem more alive… but I wasn’t. Saturday was a long day After I met a few people we made our way back north. I was so tired the second my head hit the pillow I was gone. Sunday: Sunday was HUGE! We had been advertising for about a month our free turkey giveaway. This Sunday we also started our shuttle ministry (where we drive a bus into the Yestler Terrace Community and bring the people to church). The bus was packed and when I arrived an hour and a half before church started there were already at least 20 people there (when there’s usually only 5). The service went really well. Praise and worship was fun and Bishop’s word was great. It really all comes down to the alter call on Sundays like that though. When you know that 50% of your congregation is only there to receive a free turkey. When Bishop asked if anyone wanted to receive Jesus and opened up the alter at least 60 people came down. That is what it’s all about! All the money it cost to buy turkeys, all the hard work and organization, all the running around in the cold passing out fliers. It was all worth it. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that heaven is still rejoicing over what happened at SIC yesterday! After church Shash and I went to my parents. On the way there we stopped at Rite Aid to pick up some lip gloss (I just need some strawberry) and then we made our way to Machias. My mother, bless her soul, made us amazing steaks. It was like a dream come true. I hadn’t had my mommy’s steak in a long time. We just relaxed for the rest of the evening. We made fun of Max (my mom’s poodle) and watched Hook. I even took a nap (If you really know me you know I have napping issues). After the movie/nap Shash and I did the dishes and left with our leftovers. After I dropped Shash off I had resolved that I was going to bring my leftover steak to Vincent. The man only eats junk food cuz that’s all you can get at the UW. So yeah I couldn’t let him just eat that stuff so I brought him my left over steak. We had some quality time and then I went home and fell asleep. Again immediately. So yeah that was my weekend. To me it was great but to you I don’t know. This morning I was so proud of myself cuz I woke up on time! I only hit the snooze twice. Now that’s a breakthrough! So here I am wrapping up my blog… I smell like WU right now cuz I chose not to wear perfume and just wear a gray Kentlake Hoodie instead. Yup… that’s all I have to say. Well that and, “Do you want to be here????” Linz Leave a Comment .. Trackback { Last Page } { Page 79 of 203 } { Next Page } |
