I Have a Tendency to Make Myself Laugh | |
I Didnt Have Time to Spell Check or Read Over it... Have Grace!Alright, well my mother nearly threw a fit when I told her I had yet to post anything on my blog. I’m busy people! I do occasionally have to work at my work! Now that I’m on my 15 I will do my best to recap… everything. Wow… are you ready? This one is gonna be long I can feel it.
Friday: After work I went out with The Mr. (what you didn’t know I had a Mr.? Where have you been)? We went and saw March of the Penguins. The movie was in one word: not-as-good-as-we-had-hoped-but-good-enough-to-watch-and-laugh. Just one more word… Moses… Yeah… Then afterward we went to Applebee’s and had some good quality time. My Friday was great… the company was that is. Other than that it was a pretty average day.
Saturday: I slept in a bit, which is always awesome. Then I made my way to church to pick up some things for Metro Kidz. I noticed that my youth pastors children were there with them and offered to take them off their hands for a few hours. So after getting all my toys and candy Dartavious, Aysia and I hopped in my car and headed for Yestler Terrace. Metro Kidz was fun and we really pumped the Big Top Block Party that we are going to have on the 19th (there’s going to be giveaways and games! Everyone in the greater Seattle area should come out and support!). After Metro Kidz was done we (as in the kids and I) left down town and went to Northgate where we had Starbucks and McDonalds. It was lovely… and they were both really good, which is always helpful. Then the kids and I went shopping for our dear friend Holly who is freshly 22 now. The kids picked out her gift and did a great job (a purse, bracelet and necklace and all together it was under $30). So I went home changed and took the kids home before the party. Holly’s party was really fun. It was cool just to chill and hang out with people. I had a great talk with Jess and Holly cooked an awesome dinner! The only down side of the party was the rice game… oh yes. I played the rice game against Pastor Calvin… and to be honest I talked a whole lot of trash… and for the first time in the history of the rice game… I lost. I know, I know, it’s tragic really. I think he cheated… but when all is said and done I know who the real winner is. After that game I was hesitant to compete in anything else. Pastor Calvin is a bad person to lose to… he doesn’t let you forget it. However, my time to shine was straight ahead. God had opened a door that no man could shut; and that door was called “The Talent Competition”. Now there was no way that I was going to lose that one! With Jess and my powers combine we are, by far, the roughest, toughest, hardest rappers on the west side. Kevin Federline got nothing on us! So we wrote a little ditty and with Jess on the beat box and myself spiting the rhymes we grabbed ourselves first place. It was worth it too cuz I got a really nice necklace! After the party I drove home, had good conversation and went to bed.
Sunday: Now this day is by far the hardest to write about… why? Cuz so much happened it was crazy. It felt like 3 different days all rolled into one. I will do my best to write as clearly as possible… good luck and Godspeed.
I woke up on time and got to church a few minutes late (blame the Bass Man for that). We did all our morning stuff and it was really good. Our staff prayer was so powerful and so anointed that I had no doubt that God was going to move that morning. Sure enough God showed up in a big way. Pastor Julia came up during worship and began to talk about the woman with the alabaster box. She told people that there were things that they were holding back from God. Many people came to the alter, but a lot of it felt like it was just out of routine or obedience not out of love or conviction. For whatever reason they came up it was obvious in their fruit. There was a little boy who I know is 10 years old who got something real. God did a big thing in his life that morning; his father had never seen him in such a state. This child had been transformed by the power of God. His testimony proves that if you are hungry enough, and willing enough to give everything you have to Jesus you will get a touch from Him. We worshiped all morning. Bishop didn’t even have to preach, the ones who really wanted God got what they came for… and the others? They had to sit through a service that went a little longer than usual. After church I rushed home to clean up because we were about ready to meet the parents… part 2. The Mr. had already met my parents and now it was my turn to meet his. The moment I walked into their house I felt welcome. There’s something about being in a Godly relationship. It’s hard for people to come against it; and when you are with people who know God (like the Humphreys) then there is just so much peace. Dinner was great and everyone in his family is simply amazing. We had a fabulous time talking, watching movies, and eating the cake his little sister baked. After dinner and some home movies The Mr. and I headed out to the Super Mall (which let me tell you is not as super as the name implies) to attend their “Magical Night of Giving”. It was pretty cool. I had never been before so I got to soak it all in. There were Christmas decorations everywhere and caroling… it really makes you think, “What happened to Thanksgiving”? It was all good though. I even tested out my golf skills… would you believe that I made 1 out of 2 shots? Oh yeah, and I don’t even play golf. The Mr. did alright I guess, he made 0 out of 3 shots, but he did his best (did you feel that one?). While I think he is just scared cuz he realizes that I’m going to win the battle… I’ll let him keep his tie. After we left “The Magical Night of Giving” we went and got a milk shake and headed back to the North end.
Side Note: I just have to interject something here. For those of you who search and search for the right one you are wasting your time. I’m sorry but I have to be honest. If you are desperate for companionship so much that you would look for it in every man or woman that you are moderately attracted too God will say no. Bottom line. That’s just how God is. Your future husband/wife is a gift to you; and while sometimes we like to go out and get our own gifts it’s more meaningful when it is giving to you. Vincent is truly a gift from God. I’ve known him for a while and never looked at him that way until God stepped in. Maybe someday I will write the whole story out for you. Just know that if you just continue to seek God and do what he’s called you to do He will give you more than you ever thought you deserved. Okay I’m done being mushy! Moving on to Monday!
Monday: I stapled… pretty much until my hand cramped up so bad that I just sat there willing it back to life (which worked by the way). After work I went to the amazing Piper and got my hair done! It looks fabulous as usual and I changed it up a bit. Hopefully you’re all down! Well those of you who see me that is!
Tuesday: Today… today I have been doing a lot of work. That’s it. There are a lot of interesting things to glean from this entry I’m sure. I know it’s not as witty or comical as usual but hopefully it’s obvious enough to let you all in on what’s going on in my life. Linz Leave a Comment ..
