Alright, well my mother nearly threw a fit when I told her I had yet to post anything on my blog. I’m busy people! I do occasionally have to work at my work! Now that I’m on my 15 I will do my best to recap… everything. Wow… are you ready? This one is gonna be long I can feel it.

Friday: After work I went out with The Mr. (what you didn’t know I had a Mr.? Where have you been)? We went and saw March of the Penguins. The movie was in one word: not-as-good-as-we-had-hoped-but-good-enough-to-watch-and-laugh. Just one more word… Moses… Yeah… Then afterward we went to Applebee’s and had some good quality time. My Friday was great… the company was that is. Other than that it was a pretty average day.

Saturday: I slept in a bit, which is always awesome. Then I made my way to church to pick up some things for Metro Kidz. I noticed that my youth pastors children were there with them and offered to take them off their hands for a few hours. So after getting all my toys and candy Dartavious, Aysia and I hopped in my car and headed for Yestler Terrace. Metro Kidz was fun and we really pumped the Big Top Block Party that we are going to have on the 19th (there’s going to be giveaways and games! Everyone in the greater Seattle area should come out and support!). After Metro Kidz was done we (as in the kids and I) left down town and went to Northgate where we had Starbucks and McDonalds. It was lovely… and they were both really good, which is always helpful. Then the kids and I went shopping for our dear friend Holly who is freshly 22 now. The kids picked out her gift and did a great job (a purse, bracelet and necklace and all together it was under $30). So I went home changed and took the kids home before the party. Holly’s party was really fun. It was cool just to chill and hang out with people. I had a great talk with Jess and Holly cooked an awesome dinner! The only down side of the party was the rice game… oh yes. I played the rice game against Pastor Calvin… and to be honest I talked a whole lot of trash… and for the first time in the history of the rice game… I lost. I know, I know, it’s tragic really. I think he cheated… but when all is said and done I know who the real winner is. After that game I was hesitant to compete in anything else. Pastor Calvin is a bad person to lose to… he doesn’t let you forget it. However, my time to shine was straight ahead. God had opened a door that no man could shut; and that door was called “The Talent Competition”. Now there was no way that I was going to lose that one! With Jess and my powers combine we are, by far, the roughest, toughest, hardest rappers on the west side. Kevin Federline got nothing on us! So we wrote a little ditty and with Jess on the beat box and myself spiting the rhymes we grabbed ourselves first place. It was worth it too cuz I got a really nice necklace! After the party I drove home, had good conversation and went to bed.

Sunday: Now this day is by far the hardest to write about… why? Cuz so much happened it was crazy. It felt like 3 different days all rolled into one. I will do my best to write as clearly as possible… good luck and Godspeed.

I woke up on time and got to church a few minutes late (blame the Bass Man for that). We did all our morning stuff and it was really good. Our staff prayer was so powerful and so anointed that I had no doubt that God was going to move that morning. Sure enough God showed up in a big way. Pastor Julia came up during worship and began to talk about the woman with the alabaster box. She told people that there were things that they were holding back from God. Many people came to the alter, but a lot of it felt like it was just out of routine or obedience not out of love or conviction. For whatever reason they came up it was obvious in their fruit. There was a little boy who I know is 10 years old who got something real. God did a big thing in his life that morning; his father had never seen him in such a state. This child had been transformed by the power of God. His testimony proves that if you are hungry enough, and willing enough to give everything you have to Jesus you will get a touch from Him. We worshiped all morning. Bishop didn’t even have to preach, the ones who really wanted God got what they came for… and the others? They had to sit through a service that went a little longer than usual. After church I rushed home to clean up because we were about ready to meet the parents… part 2. The Mr. had already met my parents and now it was my turn to meet his. The moment I walked into their house I felt welcome. There’s something about being in a Godly relationship. It’s hard for people to come against it; and when you are with people who know God (like the Humphreys) then there is just so much peace. Dinner was great and everyone in his family is simply amazing. We had a fabulous time talking, watching movies, and eating the cake his little sister baked. After dinner and some home movies The Mr. and I headed out to the Super Mall (which let me tell you is not as super as the name implies) to attend their “Magical Night of Giving”. It was pretty cool. I had never been before so I got to soak it all in. There were Christmas decorations everywhere and caroling… it really makes you think, “What happened to Thanksgiving”? It was all good though. I even tested out my golf skills… would you believe that I made 1 out of 2 shots? Oh yeah, and I don’t even play golf. The Mr. did alright I guess, he made 0 out of 3 shots, but he did his best (did you feel that one?). While I think he is just scared cuz he realizes that I’m going to win the battle… I’ll let him keep his tie. After we left “The Magical Night of Giving” we went and got a milk shake and headed back to the North end.

Side Note: I just have to interject something here. For those of you who search and search for the right one you are wasting your time. I’m sorry but I have to be honest. If you are desperate for companionship so much that you would look for it in every man or woman that you are moderately attracted too God will say no. Bottom line. That’s just how God is. Your future husband/wife is a gift to you; and while sometimes we like to go out and get our own gifts it’s more meaningful when it is giving to you. Vincent is truly a gift from God. I’ve known him for a while and never looked at him that way until God stepped in. Maybe someday I will write the whole story out for you. Just know that if you just continue to seek God and do what he’s called you to do He will give you more than you ever thought you deserved.

Okay I’m done being mushy! Moving on to Monday!

Monday: I stapled… pretty much until my hand cramped up so bad that I just sat there willing it back to life (which worked by the way). After work I went to the amazing Piper and got my hair done! It looks fabulous as usual and I changed it up a bit. Hopefully you’re all down! Well those of you who see me that is!

Tuesday: Today… today I have been doing a lot of work. That’s it. There are a lot of interesting things to glean from this entry I’m sure. I know it’s not as witty or comical as usual but hopefully it’s obvious enough to let you all in on what’s going on in my life. Linz

Yep, I did, you are both so sweet. I have enjoyed every stage of Lindsey's life (except for a brief time in Middle School) but this one is very touching for me and I am so happy for both of you.

Lindsey, if you were still living at home you would be grounded for exposing my sentimental side! You KNOW I have dirt on you (some on video)so you'd better be careful.

Friday: So about a week ago we went and saw March of the Penguins, and I had no clue that this movie was such a big date movie. As we sat in our seats and looked around I saw five other couples giggling and laughing over a movie about penguins. Just as my Misses said it wasn’t that good of a movie but Moses totally made it worth it. Ms. Taylor here are a few words for you “I saw that.” Applebee’s was amazing, even though we didn’t eat that much our devotional time together only makes our foundation that much stronger. I would have to say that last Friday was great because the person in the natural that has my heart was with me.

Saturday: Last Saturday was pretty average I went to the men’s breakfast and the message was phenomenal. It was on filling in the gaps as a man and stepping in where you can, Pastor Darnell poured into us all. After it was over I stuck around and sang some hymns…wait you didn’t know that I could bring the fire through song? Well if you ever get a chance you to hear me you better watch out cause you might catch a little bit of what I’m working with. Ms. Taylor’s runs are a lot cleaner and she does better with lyrics than me, but if you are a guy with a monotone you can shut your mouth and leave it at home (ouch). And about her voice please stop making comments about it (See Uncle Yao at the end) I will talk about that later though. Ok after I sang my heart out I had to go to work and as I was leaving Ms. Taylor showed up to pick up some things. Now it might seem mushy or even puppy luvish but when I saw her in her hoodie and jeans my heart jumped...ahhhh… after that I headed off to work. Ms. Taylor came in for her Tall No whip, Light Foam, with Red Sprinkles Peppermint White Hot Chocolate, and got something similar for Dartavious, Aysia. *Quick aside- The comment was made to me “why practice something that you know you are going to be good at..?” Well (cough) (cough) Ms. Taylor I think you do it all the time. Just so all the readers know she is going to be a great mother. LOL.. “We can do better” (ok aside over). After work I came home, showered up, got ready for church in the morning, and shared some good telephone time with the love of my life…ahhh.. man it just keeps coming out.

Sunday: Well Sunday was beyond words but here I’ll try. Ok since Ms. Taylor went over the church service I won’t rewrite it, but know that I was there. I will start at part 2 (in steps the most handsome man ever to share an Oreo Cookie Milkshake with her). So yes I met her parents a week prior to this and let me tell you they are amazing. The Bass Man well we go way back, Mom Jane she is beautiful and she kept smiling because her daughter was oozing, and Dad Denny well we had the best conversations and shared some great laughs. So when she came over to my parents house they had a lot to live up to. So we arrive and get in the front door and the house looked amazing. I don’t think that any of you readers have been to my house, but if you have all I can say is that it was spotless. The house is never really dirty, but this was above and beyond my expectations. The peace that Lindsey wrote about was great, I think she ushered it in when we gave Shayla her gumballs(Now entering the ring Ms. Taylor fixing the past injustices committed against sisters everywhere,{CAUTION!! that last sentence may be hard to say out loud with a lisp, go slow}). Well Lindsey you left out some key parts in your entry about my parents house so let me help you. In our family it is customary to hold hands and pray when we have big events at the house and this was definitely one of those times. So we all held hands and went around in a circle taking turns praying. (By the way we literally tape everything and this was on tape so look for it in a theater near you) Ok when it came time to hear Ms. Taylor pray she let loose, I mean she didn’t take it all the way to the dog down the street, but ummmmm….lets just say that every angel in heaven heard her because I surely did. After dinner we watched some home movies and she got to hear me sing first soprano and alto. So onto the “Magical Night of Giving” the decorations were great but I am reminded of a putting match. Alright Ms. Taylor it has been awhile since you have challenged me to words so in case you forgot who God gave you sit back and read this. So you made 1 out of 2 shots that’s all fine and dandy but I do recall showing the proper way to putt a golf ball. (I like starting my sentences with so..) So if you would have taken the time to critical dissect that situation you would see that you were acknowledging my teaching skills, which I have no problem accepting. About me going 0 for 3, well I don’t know about you but being able to hold you and show you the proper way left me disorientated. It has something to do with this four letter word that starts with an L. Some people can just dismiss their feelings or move right along but that Issey Miyaki almost knocked me down (the question is did you feel that one?) About me being scared of losing the battle… you know I can’t even honor that comment so I will just move on. About the car ride… first off it is a long drive from the Super Mall to the city in which she lives. It was so amazing because as for words there wasn’t really any. Yet, God had so much to say, I can speak for both of us when I say that we had never experienced a move God so powerful through the silence of a car. ( See Bottom Line )

Uncle Yao- Ok for all of my young courting men out there sometimes we have to just hold our peace and remain silent. Now Lindsey is without a doubt handcrafted by God, but for me, not for just any guy. A comment was made about her voice and lets just say it was very inappropriate. I mean I don’t even reference it the way he did, so to all of my Uncle Yao’s out there maybe that’s why you are 28 and still single…(“I am fired up”). Just a little more…men I might not be that big in physical appearance but, “I WILL FIND YOU Ms. Taylor is taken, considered yourself warned !”

Bottom Line- Your future husband/wife is a gift to you and just as it was stated it is a lot more meaningful when something this precious is given to you. Even though Lindsey and I aren’t married yet I know that my soul cried out when it finally met its other side (Mom Jane you still ok?). I never once looked at Lindsey “that way” until God stepped in. The story of how we got together is divine and she will probably post it in the future. Just know that if you continue to seek God and do what he’s called you to do he will give you more than you ever thought you deserved, and even can handle.

What are you still reading this for?? I’m so done…over and out with a shout…Ms. Taylor chew on those words but don’t pout….

I just want to say, God has truly smiled on you. I felt the presence of Lord when you entered the house. The way you greeted everyone and the smile on your face was more than I could have asked for. I have never seen my son so happy. Believe me I have never shared the family movies and secrets with anyone other than you. That is special and means a lot. I pray God's many blessings on your relationship.
