I Have a Tendency to Make Myself Laugh

Would You Like to Sing a Duet With Me?

Well I’ve had quite the morning! I don’t know what it was I just couldn’t get myself up. It was 8:15 and was still chillin in the bed. I had to do the whole “alright self we’re gonna count to 10” drill… I did that twice before I actually got up. I wasn’t too worried cuz I was pretty much ready (that means I knew what I was going to wear) all I had to do was brush my teeth and do “hair and makeup”. Well when it came time to do my hair I realized my flat iron was only getting hot on one side. Yes… I have now broken two flat irons in one month. Granted this one was old… but I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I just want to have straight hair! Is that too much to ask?

Oh but enough vain rambling… my weekend was really quite busy. I saw the movie The Gospel… twice. It was alright; I liked the music and the overall story (there were a few parts that… well go see it and you’ll know what I’m talking about). On Saturday I went to Metro Kidz. It was crazy, but the kids were fairly well behaved (for them at least). We talked about the importance of being a helper. I think they really got something out of it. We also played the best game… its called “I love grapes”. It’s like chubby bunny only with grapes. The kids were so funny… I think they fit at least 10 in there… I have the pictures on my phone! After Metro I went home and tried to take a nap. I failed miserably. Later that evening I went out with Tia, Jess and Zay (only her for a bit). We got starbucks and chilled before going to see The Gospel. Tia, Zay and I just wanted to relax and talk. Jess on the other hand wanted to play this card game called Skip Bo. So we humored her and played a hand. Tia won… yeah I wasn’t so thrilled… but I think I handled it well. After we saw the movie Jess and I talked and both went home.

Sunday was awesome! Bishop preached an illustrated sermon called “Walking Tall”. It was loosely based off of that movie with the Rock. The movie, based on a true story, was about a man who left his hometown to work in the military. When he came home years later he finds everything I grew up in and all that he loves destroyed by drugs and violence. So… to make a long story short he starts to regulate with a big stick (that was probably the most beautiful sentence ever written). Bishop went on to talk about us and where we need to make a stand for God. How are we as Christians going to do damage to the enemies camp. Then he passed out these pieces of wood and we all wrote who we were going to reach out to on it. It was a powerful service. That was pretty much my weekend. My UPS guy just told me that I need to get out more. Is that sad or what? Well there’s no graceful way to close out this entry… so bye! Linz
